Several drug charges alleged against persons arrested in Nashua

The Nashua Police announced that seven people were recently arrested for various crimes under New Hampshire law. The charges were primarily drug charges or allegations of other activities related to drug matters. However, it doesn't seem that the alleged violations for each person are related in any way.

A 58-year-old man was one of those arrested. Authorities charged him with possession of cocaine and a firearms charge. He had been arrested earlier in the month on similar drug-related charges and was out on bail. He is now incarcerated and awaiting an arraignment hearing.

Three men were arrested on separate, unrelated drug charges. The allegations ranged from possession of cocaine and fentanyl to the alleged selling of heroin. One of the three was picked up for failing to appear previously in court for a charge of transporting drugs in a vehicle.

Police charged a 24-year-old man with selling heroin and a 28-year-old woman on heroin possession charges. Finally, they arrested a 20-year-old female on unrelated charges of obstructing government administration and resisting arrest pursuant to New Hampshire law. All of the individuals are waiting for scheduled arraignment hearings.

Defense counsel will of course meet with their respective clients as soon as possible to go over the charges and the facts surrounding them. Since the charges appear to be unrelated with respect to each defendant, defense counsel must focus strictly on the particular allegations against his or her individual client and decide whether a defense to the drug charges or other alleged violations exists under New Hampshire law. Representation of each defendant is very fact specific, and it is in the facts that the strengths and weaknesses of the state's case will be determined.
