2 Pembroke residents arrested on drug charges

After an undercover operation that lasted several months, police recently arrested two New Hampshire residents from Pembroke. Both are now facing felony drug charges, including dealing in controlled substances (cocaine) and also criminal liability for another person's conduct. According to authorities, the investigation kicked off in the latter half of December.

Court affidavits indicate that an undercover agent sent a text message to one of the accused -- a 43-year-old woman -- on Dec. 22 with a request to arrange the supply of 2 grams of cocaine, and the 42-year-old man purportedly called back to say that they were at a particular address. A detective is said to have called at the home and allegedly handed the man $200. The accused man is accused of taking the money and asking the detective to return later because he had to fetch the cocaine from his supplier. When they returned later, the package -- that supposedly later tested positive for cocaine -- was allegedly handed to the detective by the woman.

Detectives claim a similar transaction took place on Jan. 6, when -- once again -- the detective had to return later to collect the drugs. However, according to the affidavit, after another text message about a week later, the detective went to the house, paid and received the cocaine without being asked to come back later. After a warrant had been issued for the arrests of the two suspects in March, they were arrested on April 29. The two individuals are held on $5,000 cash bail each.

It was also reported that these two New Hampshire residents both have previous arrest records. They will likely recognize the severity of the situation and retain the services of experienced criminal defense attorneys. Facing drug charges can be challenging, and the services of a lawyer who is skilled in defending such charges may be invaluable. An attorney can protect the rights of the accused individual and fight for the best possible outcome.
