Examining car accidents on a state-by-state basis

Everyone knows that there are a few common reasons for car accidents all across the United States. Frequent causes that are cited are drinking and driving, texting while behind the wheel and speeding. In order to properly see how these reasons impact people in different areas, a map of the United States was recently created that laid out the top reason for fatal accidents in each state.

In most states, the top cause of these deadly crashes was a failure to stay in the correct lane. This is a very general category, which could be part of the reason for its dominance. Someone who is drinking or texting could drift out of the his or her lane, thus contributing to these statistics in the same way for two very different reasons.

In New Hampshire, though, the most common reason for a deadly accident was careless or reckless driving. It shared this distinction with just five other states: Florida, Colorado, Minnesota, North Carolina and Arkansas.

However, from a statistical perspective, New Hampshire did not even rank in the top five in that category. This shows that, while careless driving may be the biggest issue facing drivers today, it is at least safer in New Hampshire than it is in other states that are facing the same challenges.

No matter why you were involved in a car accident, you might be able to seek compensation if the other driver initiated the crash. This could help you cover the cost of your rehabilitation, your lost wages, your medical bills, and much more.
