New Hampshire mother charged with child endangerment and more

A bystander who saw a mother in New Hampshire driving her car with her child inside called the police. There was reportedly another adult in the car as well. This happened on a Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to the call, going to an apartment complex known as Colonial Village. The woman was no longer there, but they were able to track her down at Spirit Haus. The woman is 34 years old.

Police have now charged her with operating her vehicle while under the influence. On top of that, she was found to be in possession of a pharmaceutical drug, which is a Class B drug, and she was said to be under the influence of that drug. Since she had her child in the car at the time, she is being charged with child endangerment on top of everything else.

To further complicate things, the woman attempted to struggle when the officers were bringing her to the police cruiser and putting her inside. As a result, she was also arrested on grounds of resisting arrest.

The woman, who had previously lived at the apartment complex and had been going back there to visit some of her friends, was taken to the Hampshire County Jail. Her child, who is 8 years old, was given into the custody of one of her friends, but the State Department of Children and Families then stepped in after that.

Even when facing far more than just a drunk driving charge, those who have been accused deserve to have a fair trial. They also have a right to legal representation in their case, which they can use even if they do not intend to fight the charges, just to make sure that the sentence is fair.
