Pawn shop owner chases down robbery suspect in Manchester

Luke Nelson, owner of Nelson's Good Still Pawn Shop in Manchester, New Hampshire, faced down a man who attempted to rob his business on Wednesday, September 4, according to regional media outlet the Union Leader.

The incident occurred at around 3:15 p.m. when 20-year-old Jonathan Rodriguez allegedly entered the shop and aimed a firearm at Nelson. The shop owner then pulled his gun out from under the counter and pointed it at the suspect, threatening to shoot him. At that point, Rodriguez ran out of the store.

Nelson proceeded to chase Rodriguez, though law enforcement officials located the suspect shortly after and said that they were forced to use a Taser in order to apprehend him. He currently faces a number of charges including armed robbery, simple assault, criminal threatening and resisting arrest.

"It's scary to know this was going on outside my home, in the middle of the day," Chris Eaton, who lives in an apartment above the pawnshop, told the news outlet. "Luke's a good guy, and he runs a good business here. I don't know what's happening with this city. This used to be a good neighborhood."
