Two-vehicle crash in New Hampshire injures teenager

During the early evening on Saturday, September 22, a young girl was injured when she was involved in a two-car accident on Hastings Avenue in Keene, New Hampshire.

Hannah Wood, 17, was driving in a Subaru Legacy on Evan's Lane around 5:10 p.m. As she turned onto Hastings Avenue, Ashleigh Boivin, a 24-year-old woman driving a Volkswagen Jetta, T-boned the young girl's station wagon.

The impact occurred at the front driver's side door, just where Wood was sitting, and caused her to sustain serious head injuries. Keene police sergeant Jason Short told The Keene Sentinel, a local newspaper, that Wood had appeared to endure several seizures at the scene of the accident. Police had withheld her name from publication until Monday morning.

Emergency personnel rushed Wood to Cheshire Medical Center's Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene facility following the crash. The Union Leader reported that initially, the crew had requested a helicopter, but had later canceled the Medivac flight. Beyond that, authorities did not have information on the teen's current condition or the severity of her head injuries.

Boivin, the driver of the Jetta, appeared to have come through the collision unharmed. The source said that she sought independent medical help in the aftermath, but had not needed emergency hospital treatment.

As of September 24, Short told media outlets that an investigation of the accident was still ongoing, and at present, no charges have been filed in relation to the crash.
