20-year-old charged with drunk driving after rollover crash

Following an early morning crash in Madbury, a young man is facing criminal charges. New Hampshire State Police say a 20-year-old man is now facing drunk driving charges. Reportedly, the accident involved only one vehicle, and the driver was the sole occupant of that car.

A State Police accident report indicates that the accused man crashed into a telephone pole at approximately 5 a.m. on a recent Sunday. After receiving a report of a rollover accident, police arrived at the scene to find a car on its roof, electrical cables all over it. A telephone pole had also snapped and was hanging over the roadway. Initial investigations suggested the man was heading northwest when he smashed into the pole after losing control of his vehicle.

Residences and businesses in the area had no power for more than five hours. The driver suffered no serious injuries, and no mention was made of a trip to the hospital. State police arrested the man after the accident, and he is now facing a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Facing drunk driving charges while underage can have devastating consequences for any young person in New Hampshire. The most logical step for anyone in such a situation may be to seek the help of an experienced criminal defense attorney. A lawyer can scrutinize the criminal charges and the procedures used to determine the accused individual's level of intoxication. Any deviations from accepted protocol can be addressed in court. The lawyer can advocate for the accused driver and work to achieve an outcome that will limit the consequences.
