Car runs into stopped traffic in New Hampshire, injures 5

Route 16 runs through Milton, New Hampshire, but a portion of it had to be closed down when a serious accident took place, injuring five different people. According to the New Hampshire State Police, only a pair of cars were involved, and the crash happened right around 3 in the afternoon.

The accident happened in the northbound lanes of the highway, and police said that a crash had already taken place at Exit 18. They had responded to it and they were working on that accident, causing traffic to come to a halt while they did so.

They reported that the driver responsible for the second crash must not have been able to tell that all of the cars had stopped. Instead of also coming to a stop, the vehicle came on very quickly and plowed into the back of the lineup.

The police said that the injuries to those in the stopped car, the one that was hit, were quite serious. At least one of those individuals was taken to Maine Medical by helicopter. All of the people who had been in that car needed to go to the hospital for treatment.

An 11-year-old boy is said to be in critical condition, while a 9-year-old who was injured is in fair condition. Also injured was the driver who failed to stop and slammed into their vehicle.

Car accidents that involve serious injuries and medical helicopters can come at a very high price, in terms of medical bills (beyond the unimaginable physical suffering). If those who are hurt were not responsible for the crash, it is wise for them to look into their legal options.
