3 people face drug charges; 2 detained on bail

Most criminal charges offer a range that allows allegations to be customized to the severity, seriousness or scope of the crime. Drug charges are often defined by the type of substance involved, the amount of substance and what individuals were doing with the substance at the time of the investigation or arrest. Three individuals in New Hampshire are facing a range of drug charges after their arrest.

According to reports, the three individuals were involved in dealing drugs in a New Hampshire city. The individuals are aged 19, 23 and 18.

Police arrested the 19-year-old individual on charges of driving under the influence and conspiracy to commit the sale of drugs. Specifically, the individual was charged with drug offenses related to heroin.

The second individual -- a 23-year-old -- was arrested for possessing heroin, intent to distribute, controlled drug acts prohibited and sale of controlled drugs. The first individual was being held on a bail of $10,000. The 23-year-old was being held on a bail of $20,000.

A third individual, who is 18 years old, was charged with a misdemeanor for possession of marijuana. The 18-year-old was released after making a $2,500 bail. He is to return to court on July 14 for an arraignment.

According to reports, the other two individuals face felony charges. If convicted, they could each face a fine of up to $100,000 and a prison sentence up to seven years.

Obviously all the individuals in this case have a need for a criminal defense, but the two individuals being charged with felonies have the most to lose if convicted. Both financial assets and freedom can be lost when facing criminal charges, making a solid defense and early planning important.
