Two New Hampshire men face felony burglary charges

About an hour's drive south of Rochester, two New Hampshire men were recently arrested after a woman called Nashua police and said the men were trying to break into her home.

The two men, 26 years old and 18 years old, were later arrested and charged with a number of felonies involving burglary and attempted burglary, law enforcement officials said.

The woman called police around 2 p.m., reporting that two men were trying to burglarize her home. When officers arrived, she gave them a description of the suspects.

The two men were arrested a short while later, police said, and charged with Class A felony burglary, Class B felony burglary, Class A theft by unauthorized taking and Class B felony attempted burglary.

After the men were taken into custody, Nashua detectives conducted an investigation which led to additional burglary charges being filed against the pair.

Police claim the two are responsible for residential burglaries on six different Nashua streets, all apparently near one another. Those burglaries allegedly took place between November 25 and December 5.

Officials said stolen items included jewelry and electronic devices. They said some of the stolen items were recovered.

The website covering the story noted that Class A felonies can result in sentences of up to 15 years in prison and a Class B felony conviction can result in seven years behind bars.

In both instances, fines can be added by the court to the incarceration periods.

When faced with those possibilities, it makes sense to decline to speak with police or prosecutors before discussing rights, evidence and charges with an experienced criminal defense attorney.
