Woman sentenced to 37 months in prison for seacoast bank robberies

Even after you've been convicted of a crime, a New Hampshire lawyer will continue to be an invaluable ally. These seasoned professionals can do everything in their power to ensure that you are treated fairly while serving your sentence and explore avenues that may result in less time behind bars.

According to Foster's Daily Democrat, a Gorham woman was sentenced to 37 months in prison and three years of supervised release for her involvement in two bank robberies. She has also been ordered to pay restitution to both financial institutions.

On May 11, 2012, 39-year-old Roxanne Gillis robbed a Bank of America in Conway after presenting a note to a teller instructing the employee to give her the money. Then, a few weeks later on May 29, she repeated her crime at Kennebunk Savings Bank in York, Maine.

The source states that law enforcement officials arrested Gillis in Conway and conducted an investigation to determine if she was linked to both incidents. She ultimately confessed to the robberies.

The Conway Daily Sun reported in June 2012 that Gillis said she committed the crimes because "she was desperate and needed the money to care for her daughter." That was the only motive listed in the affidavit.

Have you been accused of robbery in the Granite State? If so, don't settle for mediocre legal representation. You owe it to yourself to consult with an experienced New Hampshire lawyer. These knowledgeable professionals can review your case and defend you in a court of law, ensuring that you have a fair trial from beginning to end.
