Portsmouth woman arrested after robbing pharmacy and crashing car

If you've been accused of a crime, sometimes it can feel like the whole justice system is against you, which is why you need a skilled New Hampshire lawyer to defend your rights and ensure that you receive a fair trial.

On Sunday, May 26, a woman from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, was arrested after allegedly robbing a pharmacy and crashing her car during a brief police chase.

According to regional media outlet the Union Leader, 59-year-old Cheryl Lee was charged with "robbery, conduct after an accident, disobeying a police officer, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled drug." Boston.com reports that Lee stole oxycodone - a prescription narcotic - from a Rite Aid Pharmacy on Islington Street.

The source states that the suspect, who was wearing a hat, gloves and sunglasses, gave a note to the clerk behind the counter demanding the pills. Although Lee appeared to be unarmed, the clerk gave her what she wanted to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. The person who called 911 said that Lee left the store in a white sport utility vehicle.

A law enforcement official spotted the vehicle shortly after, but when Lee noticed that she was being pursued, she increased her speed and collided with another vehicle at an intersection. Lee drove off and then exited the car, fleeing from the police officer on foot. However, the law official ultimately caught up with her and she was apprehended following a brief struggle.

The source states that the occupant of the vehicle Lee crashed into sustained minor injuries.

Have you been accused of a crime in the Granite State? If so, you owe it to yourself to consult with an experienced New Hampshire lawyer who will work tirelessly to defend you in a court of law.
