Driving While Intoxicated / Driving Under the Influence - DWI DUI
If you are arrested for DWI or DUI, and are over the age of 21, and take a breath test with results of .08 and over (.02 or over for under the age of 21), or if you refuse to take a test, the police department will confiscate your license and issue you a 30 day temporary driving permit. After 30 days your license will be suspended for 6 months if you do not request a hearing at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
You only have 30 days from the date of your arrest to request an administrative license suspension hearing with the New Hampshire Department of Safety to prevent the 6 month loss of license.
If you are convicted of DWI or DUI, your auto insurance premiums will also significantly increase.
